Il tema di "La Metamorfosi" - celeberrimo racconto del boemo Franz
Kafka - venne ripreso nel 1977 da Caroline Leaf, trasferendo il protagonista, Gregor Samsa, in versione animata, e
intitolando l’opera “The Metamorphosis of Mr. Samsa”: l’animazione venne realizzata con la
tecnica dell’animazione con la sabbia (comunemente denominata "Sand Art"), la quale, mossa opportunamente su
vetro, crea forme che si generano continuamente l’una dall’altra, amplificando così, attraverso
l’aggiunta di suoni angoscianti, il dramma del personaggio.
